New Year's Eve is traditionally a big party night. Some like to go out and some (the smarter ones) stay home. The point is to stay up until midnight, give your special someone a kiss and make a lot of noise shouting "Happy New Year". Usually some sort of adult beverage is involved. And the Auld Lang Syne song is sang.

It's also referred to as Amateur Night (at least in come circles) as that is the night where a lot of people who may not over-indulge otherwise, get smashed out of their minds and cause chaos for everyone else.

DH & I are way past any of that nonsense...we fall asleep around 9pm and tell each other Happy New Year over the next mornings cup of coffee.

What a nice offer! Sunshine sounds lovely. Some day I'd love to go back to Europe and see more of it, so who knows?

I decided that alcohol wasn't my drug very many years ago at a New Years Eve party.
Eleven stitches, two charges of assault and three days in police custody finally got the point home.

Sean, Cheesecake Factory has a pie I earmarked for you. "Oreo dream cheesecake." You ever get out this way, I promise we'll go. PS they actually have very fine food as well. I got a filet mignon, and caramel pecan cheesecake - well parts of both came home with me.

I feel almost guilty enjoying my med 40's day. Lunch is done and now back to working some more dogs. Tomorrow we are supposed to get deluged once again .
