Just spent the last few hours going through this thread! Wow, quite a few talented folks on here. Here's a few pics of my paintings. Self taught, no lessons, ever. Subject matter mainly Wildlife, Southwestern and Native American themes. Some are "works in progress" I just dabble in oil painting when I have time and in the mood. Im by no means an accomplished artist but I aspire to be one day.

Wow! Now that is some great work. I also love the pottery in the first picture.
Afternoon Cafe. I'm working at our headquarters branch today stuck in a cleanroom away from my PC and phone. I had to come up for some air and a caffeine infusion. Thanks for the afternoon pot Sour.
There is also a picture of a small stand with drawings of wildlife.
I first met this women years ago and she drew a picture for me from a photograph.
She has a particular style. It's very hard to describe but I'll take a picture of the picture she drew and post it here.
Anyway, she doesn't think she is particularly talented; despite the fact that a lot of her work is used in the local schools for wildlife classes. It took me ages to persuade her to show her work and for the last two years she's had a small stall at the local fair.

@Shadrach and @007Sean both of you very talented artists do not allow anyone to say different
I think you've got talent Sean. I really like what you've shown. If you lived closer I would be round with a lamp offering a swap.;)

Yep, we could do that! Alot of my paintings either my friends or family have acquired them from me...'free'.

If I could get my hand to transfer what my mind sees....they might be better. My hand isn't as steady as it use to be either.

One of the problems I've found is some of my stuff is a bit too 'off base' for people to consider having in their houses; great to admire at an exhibition but you need some balls to stick it in your living room.:p
The thing is, I enjoy making the off base stuff but it just doesn't sell, or not enough.
The other problem I find here is while lots of people are very complimentary about the stuff I make, to my face anyway, they just aren't prepared to pay for the time it takes me to make them.
I end having to make some stuff I think may sell and that means I'm having to work to a price range. I don't really enjoy doing that. It cramps the art if that makes sense.

I have alot of canvases laying around that I have sketched my ideas, themes on them and have not gone any further.
I really haven't had the time to work on them, except these last 6 months :lau but haven't been in the mood. <sigh> maybe one day!
