Out of 5 kids in my family, my 'good' brother and I chose the 'Red Road' the other siblings chose the 'White Road'. Not being racist here...just the way it was!
They became very greedy, they thought everything should be just given to them...they had no interest in raising animals at all....just how they could hob nob and try to impress everyone they knew by any means necessary. <sigh>

Sounds a bit like some of my family. I best not get started.......

Oh dear. I don't have a TV. I tried one about thirty years ago...kept wanting to toss it out of the window.
I don't have a mobile phone. I had three before I came here and they used to drive me mad.
I don't have, or even like cats.
Drinking? Seen way too many people with drink problems to be tempted. I usually get a bottle of good whiskey at Christmas. I drank wine here at mealtimes when I first came.

Shad, I'm with you! I don't watch TV unless there's something I really want to watch, which is rare. My friend at work is really into movies and tv. I've let her convince me to try a few shows, but I always get sick of them after an episode or two and quit watching.

I got rid of our cable service 6 years ago and never looked back. I don't miss TV one bit. I read voraciously though.
I grew up with an alcoholic mother. Who is the daughter of an alcoholic father. She was the best roll model I had! She showed me daily exactly what I didn't want to be. I'll be making the decisions in my life, thank you very much. I'll not have a bottle do it for me.

ETA: I do enjoy a nice glass of wine or a mixed drink from time to time though! I just don't make it a life style.
It was also fun brewing my own wine.

I must confess, I cheat a bit because I have an Internet connection and there isn't much on TV that you can't find on the net somewhere. So, I do watch films. I've even watched a few series. I read, but not nearly as much as I used to. As shouls be apparent form the various pictures of my house, I'm a big music fan and that is my prime entertainment......after the chickens of course.

I've been wanting a coffee grinder for ages but just couldn't justify the cost.
It does nuts and stuff as well.

We still have our big commercial grinder from our old store days...love that thing! It will rip through a 1-pound bag of bean in about 30 seconds and any type of grind you can want.

Glad you finally got one, nothing tastes quite as good as fresh ground!
