Thank you for the well wishes everyone. I decided not to agonize over making a decision and had to put one of my girls down last night. I suspect Marek's so we are sending her for necropsy to be sure.

You know how things are here...one group will keep their birds in the house for 3 months in a sling spoon feeding them and others say put them down right away. I hate those decisions, just needed to get away and do what needed done.

Sorry about the melodrama yesterday, I'm just worried for the rest of them and I loved that girl.

So sorry you had to do that. It's never easy making the decision to end a life.
I personally envy your ability to take care of it yourself. I can't even watch the videos showing how to do it humanely.
I've had 2 of my girls euthanized but had the neighbors take care of it for me. The second time was because of their dog so that one seemed fitting.

Did you hold her so her front end is up in the air? You can also buy bloat remedy, i used to keep some on hand.

Yes, I did. She's doing better this morning. Not completely normal, but better. She's walking freely and her flanks are down in size. They don't feel taut any more. She still acts like something's hurting a bit.
