Loved Roy Orbison,Gene Pitney,The Kingston Trio, Ruby and the Romantics,, Shangra Las,
Gene Chandler , Shirley Bassey,

Funny, I was thinking about The Kingston Trio earlier. She'd play albums on the HiFi while we cleaned house and she loved them! Plus Helen Reddy and Sonny and Cher.

Kingston Trio had a novelty song called "The Shape of Things, " kinda naughty sort of, but not Sin Bin material.

Had Sonny & Cher, Peter, Paul & Mary, Simon & Garfunkel , tons of them. Needed $$$ and planned to sell them to Half Price Books store. Was standing in line for their grand opening- me first and a man behind me. Took me almost 2 hours to walk there in the dark to get there early.

We ended up talking and he said he went to all the area Half Price Book stores buying up the oldie albums. He said they'd probably give me 25-50cents each. He said he's come out and see what I had.

By the time I walked home he was parked in front of my house.I went up to get my record player and he was right behind me ( I was not thrilled about that). He went through my albums and took almost all of them- and gave me $ 2.00 each. I thought I was rich.

He left and called me while he was driving and I thanked him again. Later that evening
he called again and said "IF he wasn't married, he'd love to take me out." That was one of my times when I decided not to answer the phone anymore. If I wanted to talk to someone, I would call them myself. Also got an answering machine.

As my brother's Vietnamese friend Hat, used to say "Som kine wier." My brother said no one at work could ever understand him , not even other Vietnamese . We use his expression often.
