Yes, Apparently before she got carpal tunnel she was raising 1200 birds for sale over the summer. She laughed at my paltry dream of 50. But I don't want to get in over my head.

That is a lot of poop! That's all I got to say about it.....

My RB's were ready to process at 11 weeks up here in the hills. Flat pasture and lots of feed could make it sooner for sure.

Yeah, I agree. I do not know how much land she was using, but no way around it, that is a lot of poop.

And I did not ask her what she was feeding them. My hope was to mostly free range them. Over the summer there is more then enough food for them to eat (not 1200, not unless I take over much more pasture then I intend). I figured 50 would give me about one chicken a week. This would make us more sustainable. I will feel this out and see if willing to grow.
