Hey guys, this hummingbird built her nest on a mobile I have hanging on my front porch. Sorry for the crummy snaps but they are pics of pics on my husbands camera.

That's so cool IM! You'll enjoy watching them.

We used to get quite a few hummers at our north FL place and had nests there every year.

Keep us posted on how they do!

Good morning, Cafe. Thanks for the coffee, Shad.

Skittles goes in for his partial tail amputation in a little under 2 hours. I'm nervous for him having general anesthesia because of his heart condition. I'm going to talk to the vet about a heavy tranquilizer and lots of novocaine in the tail to get the last vertebrae off.
Because the tumor is not cancerous, I've toyed with the idea of just leaving it but he's gotten it pretty angry looking because he won't leave it alone. It's got to go.
I knew he would be on activity restriction for several days after the surgery so I took the whole gang out yesterday for an hour long run in the fields and trails. Even bratty little sister got to go!
We had just intoxicating weather yesterday. I can still hear the peepers so they've been singing all night. Fabio was half out of his mind alerting to every bird that flew through or near the pen. Something tells me the 2 cardinal pairs that nested in what is now referred to as "the chicken bush" will be finding other accommodations this season.

Best of luck to Skittles today, hope all goes well!

Good morning cafe :frow

Thanks for the coffee Shad.

@N F C you were up far too early my friend.

@DobieLover good luck to Skittles! Let us know how things go.

Happy Monday all :)

Too early indeed. All was peaceful until about 12:15 when Pip (one of my house cats) decided to romp. She quieted down around 1:00 and back to bed for me. Around 2:30 she was back scratching at the sides of the plastic litter box (she's got some kind of weird fascination about that box). So I spent some time roaming around the internet, went back to sleep and Opie (one of my other house cats) decided I would make a good mattress for his bed. Not a quiet or peaceful night around here...unless you're DH and he slept through it all.

And it's a work day...yay.

Morning! It is going to be a beautiful day here. It is that time of year to get stuff done before it snows again. Brewing another pot of coffee and off and running. Have a great day!

Thanks for the fresh coffee Margie!

Snow expected here Wednesday & Thursday...is that the same for you?
