BYC Café

Nutria are big scary rat-looking things with orange teeth. They are screwing up the coastal estuaries and water ways because there is no natural predators. They were introduced to this country for the fur trade. I think they're completely repulsive!

Kinda puts a new spin on the fur jacket...pardon me, this fur is just lovely, what kind is it?

Rat. It's from a giant, orange toothed rat. You should taste the meat though. Oh! It's delicious!

:gig:sick

Morning Cafe folks!

Fowl Guy, that was a gorgeous photo! Thanks for sharing it.

Dobie, glad to get an update on Skittles! "Enjoy" working on the coop today...it's getting closer to being done!

Margie, sorry to hear about a canyon fire but glad to know you're going to be ok.

IM, thanks for the nutria recipes but think I'll pass.

You all have a great day, think I'll grab another cup of coffee on the way out...another busy day unloading another food delivery for the restaurant and cleaning (always, always cleaning).

Good morning, Café - brewed another pot . Have at it. Baseball game yesterday they won 7/5 should have been probably a 7/2 game (grandson pitched a great game with 7 strikeouts), but once again ball handling was poor. Other team was actually a better team, but their pitching was not as good - they used 3 pitchers.

@A_Fowl_Guy, what type of frog lays softball sized egg masses around mid March? Their mating call is sort of a 'chuck, chuck, chuck'. It reached 80 here yesterday and toads have started mating.

Morning! Last day before the snow comes in. It was flurries, then 4 inches, now upwards of a foot if not more... sigh, at least those new birds don't need heat and they have had a few days to chill out and figure out how to eat and stay warm but I think I will blanket the dog crate that they sleep in just in case the 18 degrees is a bit much. The coffee pot is on again and off and running, I am!

In your area that sounds like the wood frog. We have them here too.

Ugh! I hate it for you, that the winter is back with a vengeance where you are!
