We raised pigs for about five years. As a general rule, in my opinion, the more you have the more crusty sows you'll encounter. Ours farrowed in metal crate, though, so of course they cannot get out and get you. If you have a pig, like any other animal, you have to use your head. I loved them, but we've got enough going on I wasn't too sad to see them go. We'll get a few weaner pigs right directly so we'll have meat, though.

When I was real little my pa would not let me near the feeder pigs. I remember that clearly. Of course I just wanted to squish the Piggy’s XD

My neighbor is a professional dog trainer. She uses our family to help socialize her dogs, and with the training. Here are a couple of the current dogs she's been working with. I got tons of kisses today. Maggie (Lab) goes back to her owners tomorrow. I have watched her grow up. Don't worry, she comes back fairly often to visit. Her owners board her with the trainer, anytime they go out of town. The owners also let the trainer "borrow" her for certain exhibitions a couple times a year too. I've watched Blitz grow up, so far. He was right at 4 months old when he arrived. He's going back home on Saturday.
Blitz on the left, 5 months old. Maggie on the right, 1 year old.

Blitz is a very sweet, very intelligent Doberman. I really do like him.

Ha! Piglets at squealing monsters, but they're so darn cute. We spent a ridiculous amount of time with our sows trying to do the best we could, so they were pretty used to us.

Thank you. That makes a lot sense. I’ve heard they are pretty hard to keep contained too? Super strong and super smart. Although I guess with a pet maybe that wouldn’t be an issue. I imagine the pet ones are probably quite different? Can’t imagine anyone would have dangerous pigs living with them.

Potbelly’s can be dangerous too. I’ve seen some pretty nasty gashes from tusks. I’ve seen plugs taken out of legs and fingers bit off. Potbelly’s are hard to contain as well. Miss Piggy escaped quite a lot.

I love love love Elton. Have you heard "don't let the sun go down on me" with George Michael, live? Goosebumps every time.
When I was in the Jazz band in high school, We went to a Jazz festival in Reno. Outside of the Hall that the competition was in, there was a small group with a trombone player playing Don't let the sun go down on me! It was amazing!

I have a picture of the band I was in that I should scan and post. You would all get a hoot from it for sure!

Yep! Pork brains with egg, flour, salt, pepper, and garlic whipped into a paste then deep fried. I prefer cow brains but they are harder to come by since they can’t sell them in stores anymore. We have a few cattle farmers that sell us some though.
Well, it sounds good minus the brains part. Not sure I could get over it... Maybe if someone didn't tell me, haha.

I think my dad just had boars. I don’t ever remember any sows. He stopped getting them when I was about 6 or 7. I know miss Piggy squealed a lot when I first got her.

What did you play? I took piano lessons for a while, when I was pretty young, but played the trumpet throughout middle and highschool.
