BYC Café

I've been invited down to Mohammed's for a couple of hours or so tomorrow. He's the guy who bought the Asil Reza game fowl I was interested in.
Now I know I shouldn't expect such things but last time I went his wife came out with a tray of food and a pot of Moroccan tea; such hospitable people. The thing is the food was amazingly tasty and I love Moroccan tea made properly.:celebrate
The fowl are all out of quarantine now and I'll be able to see them properly

Enjoy your trip to Mohammed's tomorrow Shad!

Good afternoon, Café. Back from the sandy shores of Chincoteague. It's the one place that I never want to leave - even to return home. Have at the fresh pot of coffee I just brewed. I sure needed a caffeine boost. Traffic in Philadelphia was horrendous. There are just too many of 'us'.

Very nice to have you back Sour, your trip sounds wonderful (except the meat chicken part).

Thanks for the coffee, Sour and welcome back.
Cap, I hope there is no Lyme floating around in you!
DS$ made weight up there in Fargo so tomorrow, it starts...
I hope he just has a good experience and doesn't feel overwhelmed. There is so much hype about future greats, blah blah blah and the kids can get so stressed. I am glad that he has a great coach.
His goal is to win one match and not go two and out. We shall see what happens.

Best wishes to your DS$ in Fargo Margie :fl

Over 40 years ago we vacationed there with the Princess's sister and her husband. Families were doing something?, and BIL and I went out to Assateague in the early evening. We separated and walked our own ways. A thunder storm came up and I was out in that all by myself. I think some primal spirit of the island invaded my spirit and lives there ever since. Something about the place calls me. @DobieLover - if you go, go in the off season - perhaps early November when the island is filled with migrating birds.
I NEVER vacation in season. We always go early spring or in the autumn.
It sounds right up my alley and I think I'll start planning for it. Thanks for the pointer.

I have an image in my mind that I can not shake. You may or may not know that the Eastern seaboard of Maryland is meat chicken country. On the way to vacation we passed a truck load of Cornish X on their way to be processed. I have no idea how they managed to squeeze so many birds into each crate. They were literally stuffed in there with no room even to stand. Temps in the high 80's with similar humidities. Princess asked, "Are they alive." I replied, "Yes they are." Knowing full well that some of the birds in the center of the load must be dead. Absolute, total abhorrent inhumanity. I'm still sick over it. On the way home we saw 3 more loads of broilers - no where near as crowded, but still filthy and in distress. Sad what 'Man' can do.

 Horrid!!! This is why I applaud the homesteaders who eat their own, the hunters & the people who buy farm to table.
