No thunderstorms and that makes me sad! I love a good thunderstorm! When we were in North Carolina we used to pop popcorn and sit out on the back (covered) deck to watch them! I do like the lack of major storms like hurricanes and tornados! We might get a little earthquake now and again though.
We still live in NC, and I used to watch the 'T' storms all the time from my shop area (a lean-to on back of the old 4 section pigeon loft building)
I got hit by a ground strike while I was holding on to an umbrella (YES I know just how dumb that was) looking out the south opening. My DW found me on the dirt floor, and I didn't have any idea what happened or why I was on my back in the dirt and hurt all over. I don't enjoy 'T' storms anymore.

Sick! You should for sure buy a lottery ticket then!
I had never seen rain come down till we lived in North Carolina!! Hubby was in the Marines so we lived near Jacksonville for 2 years. When it rained it didn't mess around!

I've never actually been hit, but I have been a little too close to a few too many lightning strikes to really enjoy a thunderstorm.

Unfortunately, at this time of year, the rain does mess around - just enough to make mud and stay that way.

I love the sound! I'm weird though...I like earthquakes too. I've never been in a HUGE one though...that I probably wouldn't like. I grew up near San Francisco so I experienced the big one that happened during the World Series, I think it was 1989? I was in my car at a stop light and I thought someone had got behind my car and was pushing up and down on my bumper with their feet. That was pretty big.

How about wind. Anyone like that? No umbrellas in wind..... It will warm things up though... considering it is 8 now.....

"Wind chill values as low as -7. Very windy, with a west wind 21 to 26 mph increasing to 35 to 40 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 65 mph. Chance of precipitation is 10%.
Friday
Areas of blowing snow before 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 36. Very windy, with a west wind 34 to 44 mph decreasing to 13 to 23 mph. Winds could gust as high as 70 mph."
