BYC Café

We've got thunder bumpers with big loud cracks booming, rain and no power. That doesn't leave one with many options for entertainment. I was going to work on landscaping but that's not happening in this weather either. Ho hum.
Power is not expected to be restored until 8:30 pm but the power company always overestimates their abilities to restore power. Sounds like nap time.

Well we didn't get much of a reprieve from the heat it's 90 again but, it did suddenly stop raining which makes it worse. Thanks to the marauding buck I don't have any hostas to water. But some of the "Rose of Sharon," which grow like weeds, are having some branch die off and should have bloomed last month but didn't.:idunno

It will be winter soon and I can go outside all I want :gig with no mosquitoes.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee! It is 48F outside and everything is still soaking wet from the rain and hail we got last evening.
DL, I am glad the first part went well and they should be able to schedule both for the next time. You would think they would know...
Penny, I hope you find something that fits in your flock.
I can't believe it is Aug and also Sat., but Aug? I have work to do! Have a wonderful day!

Crazy to think it will be wintery soon. Hope you have plenty of firewood chores done Margie!

Last year I had a brahma hatch a single chick. I didn't realize she was gone, never found her nest site, she's just popped out one day with the babe. So, she starts sitting this year and I think "well, she did such a good job last year I'll give her some eggs and she'll be golden!" She hatched a single chick... Two days later I finally check the other eggs and find nothing. Two with blood rings and the rest are completely blank. Nada. I haven't a clue why. Any ideas?
