BYC Café

Not weird at all.

That omelette sounds fantastic!

It doesn't hurt to ask them if you could have the egg shells Dobie. The worst they could say is no.

She's game! I'm going to drop off a bucket tomorrow. With the number of eggs she goes through, I'll probably get a months worth of shells in one weekend from her.

What did you find DL?
Girlie stuff!! :love
A pair of earrings, a very nice wool jacket and a windchime. $7 for all of it.

Beautiful place to run (for you) or walk (for me)

I'm the same way , NFC. I'm a walker. I saw a shirt the other day that said "I run faster than something that's slower than me". Should've bought it :p

Another walker here. I used to run at school, cross country and I was okay at it.
I cycled a lot in the UK right up until I left. I walk pretty quickly I'm told but I haven't run any distance for years and prefer not to run at all.

Now I need to clarify... the DOGS run, I walk!
I've had microfracture surgery on both knees and they are on borrowed time. I wanted to get them to 50 years old before I had to have partial replacements and I've made that age.
(Don't tell them! So far they only catch or swell up on occasion and my new goal is 55!)

It's been poop inspection day here today.
I've been trying to monitor the poop from the broody hens mainly.
I have for some time been providing supper for the broody hens in my house nest box.
There is a difference in how the broodies in the coops get fed supper and how the ones in the house do.
The coop hens get taken off their eggs if necessary and I make sure they are fully out of the broody trance. They tend to run around a bit bathing and pooping and return to the nest.
The broodies in the house get supper in bed so to speak.:)
I've noticed a difference in poop consistency between the two. The morning poop from the hens sitting in the house nest box still has recognizable bits in it while the poop from the coop hens is pretty much blended.
I'm beginning to think that eating while sitting isn't ideal for their digestive system.
I can't make a lot of sense out of this because
1) the chickens digestive system doesn't rest like a humans when they are relaxed and/or asleep.
2) the other chickens eat shortly before roosting and their poop is blended.
