Agreed. :sick My mother used to make us eat PB, bologna & mayo sandwiches. :sick I can still smell the rancid odor that made after baking in a hot locker all day. :sick To this day the only one of those 3 things I can still eat is peanut butter.
I like mayo, and I also eat fried bologna.

Not surprisingly, I bang on about chickens in real life too.
I get asked some really stupid questions about chickens from some people but a few others listen to what I have to say and realise that my interest is knowledgeable and passionate. One question I get asked is what is it that keeps you so fascinated. It's a very difficult question to answer with any brevity.
Today provided one example.
I was sitting at the computer next to the house nest box when Mel who had been fidgeting in the box for a bit stands up and after a few moments to get fully awake jumps to the floor. Mel pecks when she wants something and while it's normally food there are other reasons.
Mel came over to me as I sat and pecked at my trousers. I know she isn't hungry because she had already been up and out this morning for poop and food.
I stand up and Mel heads for the door. Initially I thought she had given up on the sit and wanted escorting to her tribe.
When we got outside Mel did the usual precautionary check before running over to the flower box in the picture below. There are no other chickens around so there is no rooster to keep watch while she baths. I take a my coffee outside and roll a smoke. When Mel sees I've sat down she gets in the flower box which is a favorite dust bath. Every now and then her head appears over the edge to check I'm still paying attention. She finishes her bath and comes and hangs around the chair I'm sitting on grooming and shaking out the dust.
I give her a few minutes, stand up and collect my cup and make my way back inside. Mel follows and a few moments later is back in the nest box.View attachment 1902347

That's a great experience!

Mornin', ya'll!:frow

Shad, your chickens are lucky to have you. :)

This dog, on the other hand, only now became lucky:
