BYC Café

Tonight is the first night for almost a month I haven't had a chicken or more than one chicken in the house at night. Who am I going to talk to?:hit
Mel took to her new home very easily. It took just one night of herding her and the chicks in in the evening and she decided the extra sleep she and the chicks got was well worth it.
Myth who has been here the last couple of nights due to a ripped off toe nail took herself home this evening....didn't even make the bed and clean up before she left.:rant:lol:
On the bright side I can play some tunes at night so that's what I'm doing while I make supper.
With no feathered residents I can set about some serious cleaning and believe me the place needs it especially after today rain. All Tribe 1 came in to shelter from the deluge, two roosters, five hens, four chicks, none of which wiped their feet.:he

I need to get a really sharp knife.
My neighbor is a hunter. He does no contact killing. I wonder if this is going to be harder for him than he thinks it will be.

Igor says it's very different, but he kind of knows these chickens where your friend doesn't. He said it's very different than shooting an animal, much more personal for him.

Happy early Birthday @igorsMistress only have 9 years on you enjoy the day
Thank you Penny!
Is he a good cook?

He is an excellent cook. Great on the bbq, makes perfect fish and omelettes every time and is the one who makes pie crust while I make the filling.

I just jumped on here... best knife for doing the deed on chickens is this one. Easy to change out as well...
Havalon Piranta-Edge Blaze Orange Handle 12 Additional Crazy Sharp Blades
Thanks for the tip, Margie. I ordered it.

Baseball games today - 8 AM and 12:30 PM. GPS said it was a two and a half hour drive so we skipped the first game - only took us 1.5 hours to get there. :rant So we missed grandson pitching the first game - they won 4/3. Second game they mercy ruled 11/1 in the fourth inning.

Sounds to me like you're suffering from "empty nest" syndrome :p
