Hi Bunny! The bald eagle in my avatar is a photo my son took while we were on vacation last week. Such a handsome, regal looking guy!

Sorry to hear you have the crud Meg. I've got a lingering case of something similar (hate that whistling sound when I'm trying to fall asleep). Hope you're over it soon!
That picture is amazing! Very beautiful. I hope you get over it soon, as well! :highfive:

According to the signage by his huge enclosure, it's illegal to keep a bald eagle captive if he can survive in the wild. But this guy was found wounded by a river in Nebraska (he'd been shot). He was nursed back to limited health and given a permanent home at the Reptile Gardens in South Dakota. His name is Cheyenne.

If any of you find yourselves up near Rapid City, SD drop in there at the Reptile Gardens...they have a wonderful assortment of animals and the landscaping is beautiful.

I was super impressed with the entire place. Everything was clean, roomy for the animals and it was just plain pleasant to spend time there. You could tell the animals were treated well and the 3 animal handlers we spoke with were very knowledgable about their charges.

How very cool to see one so close! Sad how he got there, though.

Too bad they could not figure out who shot him

I agree someone that would do something like that should be held responsible. But I'm glad he was found still alive and they could nurse him back to health.
