Good morning, Cafe.
Last day at the salt mines.
Ben is headed for the vet tonight at 6:30. He is in a lot of pain and I've got him on full doses of muscle relaxant and pain reliever. He yelped out three times before I fed the dogs last night and again three times during the night. He is so stiff I'm again wondering about Lyme but he tested negative the last time. I'm going to have the poor guy x-rayed tonight.

Sorry to hear about Ben Dobie. Hope the vet can figure out what's wrong and fix him up.

Good morning Café. @DobieLover if bloodwork is not definitive, ask the vet about putting him on Doxycycline 'just in case'. I don't believe in indiscriminate antibiotic use, but sometimes Lyme is difficult to diagnose in animals as well as in humans. If conditions improve somewhat in 72 hours of treatment, chances are the animal has Lyme disease. Generally a 30 day treatment seems to give a cure/remission of the disease.

Bridget had Lyme but tested positive. I'll have Ben tested again but will ask for (read 'insist on') the Doxy if it's negative and we don't see anything on the X-rays.
