You may remember me commenting on the absence of Tribe 1 in the house. Yep, it's true I miss them but today was a stark reminder of the advantages of the occasional chicken in the house.
It's been windy here. Move garden furniture about kind of windy. The chickens hate it, I finally worked out what distresses them is they can't hear much in the wind and therefor predator location is difficult. It's also got cold; about a 10 degree drop from yesterday.
A couple of the hens haven't finished moulting and it was obvious that all were feeling the chill because they were quite fluffed up.
Hurry is under the cream chair and Mel and her three chicks are under my feet.:he:lol:

Thank you for your optimism. It unfortunately was not outstanding but I can see where I could fit in much better than where my manager thinkgs.

In a word: chaos.

The disorganization is worse outside of complex assembly, the area I was helping out in a few months ago. BUT I see a very good fit for me that I will be discussing with my manager. He hasn't been there very long either. I need a training class on the shop floor control system (which I have yet to hear anyone say a positive thing about) but I plan to show up to work on Thursday with my steel toe work boots and my working clothes on. I'm climbing into one of those machines and learning some ropes with one of my fellow Endicott engineer transplants.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn I have a desk! :)
Is it big enough to sleep on?
I was never very good at discussing with managers.:p The conversation often went something like this.
"You hired me to do a job and therefor, unless your hiring procedure and assessment is broken, I assume you thought I was competent. As a competent person in a skilled field I am telling you this is what needs to be done. If you as a manager think you know better then I suggest you do the job."
Yup, it is true, I did get sacked occasionally.:D
