Despite my initial pessimistic weather report, the sun has come out and i can't get the layers of clothing off fast enough.

I would love to share.
The winter weather makes the roasting summers and all the irritations of living in a foreign country worthwhile.
Most winters I've spent here have had a very high proportion of sunshine and my very first year here I got sunburn in late December. What one does need to take into account is when the sun drops behind the ridge the temperature drops like a rock. You can go from 20C to minus numbers in less than an hour.

Good morning, Café. @Mtn Margie 'kids and cars' scare the bejesus out of me. Hardest thing I ever did as a parent was watch my kids drive out the driveway on their own, and now I have 5 grandkids who are driving. I am a reformed (in many ways) lunatic so I have asked my guardian angels to stop watching over me and protect my grandkids and the Princess - who still drives too fast.
