Blue skies and sunshine here. It's about 16C here atm. Around freezing overnight.
I don't do Christmas shopping anymore.

But seriously, I only buy for DH. My boys get checks. My mom gets a box of homemade goodies. That's it for me!

Do you send cards to friends or family?

Nope.
I'm not a Christian so essentially it's a commercial festival. When the kids were young I did the whole bit, including taking them to church of various denominations.
Many years ago having watched so many people push themselves into debt at Christmas we agreed that if you didn't make it you couldn't give it unless it was food.
If I visit people at Christmas I'll take a gift.
I've got enough crap without acquiring a shed load more that I don't really need.

I am not Christian either but, most of my friends are. I enjoy sending them holiday days of a humorous but NOT insensitive nature. I send humorous cards reflecting our religion to family- along with their gift card. They are too fussy to chance -sending them gifts.

I also am thrilled to receive cards or letters from others. Email doesn't do it well.

Glad you found him Dobie! Please do keep in mind Sarge could be sweet because pops is there to keep him in line. Without your main man, the subordinates can be real jerks.

That's the thing. His father doesn't keep him in line. He gives him quite a lot of slack compared to the way he treats Captain. The pullets REALLY go after Sarge. He's terrified of them. I just think he is a really nice boy. A lot like Captain.

My grandkids get gift cards, the kids get the same. Spending time with my folks is enough lol.

Neither do I. I used to decorate for the holidays but I've lived in houses in various stages of completion for 7 years so why bother? Maybe when this one is done, I'll decorate.

I do decorate a bit. It's the winter solstice after all.
I cook for Christmas, even if I'm visiting, much to my daughters irritation when her husband, her husbands father and I ban women from the kitchen.
Even if I spend Christmas day on my own I cook something special........how special it turns out is another matter.
The one day a year I drink alcohol is Christmas. I'm pretty much legless by the end of the day. It doesn't take much. Each year I buy or get given a bottle of single malt Scotch whiskey and that's what I drink. I've got four bottles from earlier years so I'm not very good at it.
