BYC Café

Morning! Cold here but warming up later on.
Nice looking Dobie, DL. I hope it works out. FC, I am glad things are better for you too this AM.
The cookies sound delicious, Sour! It is finals week for DS$ and then a tournament that promises to have some really good wrestlers in it for the weekend. He is psyched!
Thanks for the coffee and I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Today is the FIRST day I've been able to walk into the chicken run and not have a 10 lb rooster mad about it. He didn't attack every day, but he let his presence be known. He would attack our boots a lot and he followed me everywhere. He never paid attention to the girls, he was always focused on me.

HeiHei came to see me instantly to see what goods I brought. I've never met a rooster so sweet. I'm not sure if he's going to be the head of the flock or if Squatch will be. HeiHei hangs out with the chicks, they're all 6 weeks old. They seem to really like him.

Squatch hasn't bothered HeiHei at all. So I'm thinking I lucked out with this free roo. He's a bit over a year old so maybe he will teach Squatch a free things or vice versa.

I was worried we took the wrong cockerel, but as soon as I put out scraps, he started grabbing pieces and clucking to his girls to come get some. The dynamic has completely changed in the flock already. It's more calm and like it was before we added roos/cockerels to the mix.

Glad it’s working out so well!! :D

Glad it’s working out so well!! :D
I was so happy I could walk into my run without having to watch my back. The Easter Egger mix and orpington mix were put in yesterday too and they went right into the coop with the others. Hopefully none of the chicks are cockerels. I'll remove them if they are.

I bet!! I would be too. Can’t imagine being scared to go into the run. Some of my girls can be a bit pecky but not aggressive. Can’t imagine having to watch my back with a nasty roo. Glad hubby finally agreed to let you rehome him lol

And that’s awesome!!! Hopefully it works out!! And hopefully they’re all pullets lol I’ll get some updated pictures of mine today.

Chihuahuas are crazy dogs. If you don't correct them they'll bite everyone! Jolene has Chihuahua in her and she was corrected at a very young age not to bite. People get bit more by Chihuahuas than they do pit bulls.
The first dog I had was a chihuahua, and he was a sweet dog. I think it depends on who raises them and how they do it. I socialized the dog a lot. He would heel off lead in a small. Stayed in our yard without a fence. Would sit on the lap of a stranger, if called over. He was never aggressive.

I wasn't really scared of him but he was just annoying. I couldn't do my farm chores without walking backwards.

They have a Napoleon complex. Little dogs tend to have a bark bigger than their bite because of their size. They have to compensate somehow.

Out of all my dogs, I think my beagle would do the most damage to someone if they tried to attack me. I'm her entire life.

A Chihuahua was my first dog also Cap. She was a sweet thing that liked everyone.

He sounds like a great dogs!! Unfortunately I think most little dogs are spoiled rotten and treated like accessories and/or children instead of dogs and therefore get a horrible rep :(

That does sound annoying!! Haha

I think my pug is part Chihuahua instead of part beagle... She can be nippy and it's not because I trained her wrong. She always wants to protect me, I'm the alpha and all my dogs will "protect" me even if it's from a squirrel.

If I bring Molly with me on a ride, at red lights if anyone stares at me she'll start barking at them :gigive traveled all over with this dog. She's never bit anyone, she's just protective of her things like my car.
