I wonder in anyone local is raising them.....
check with your local FFA or 4H group.

it's very probably, you can get their breeder list.

breeders will always have show culls.

I really am looking forward to eating rabbit. I did as a child, my Dad loves rabbit and my Mom used to prepare it in a dutch oven with red wine. It was so tender and flavorful.

The seller said any recipe that calls for chicken you can substitute rabbit. Wait...what was that? Oh yes, my chickens breathing a sigh of relief! LOL

New Zealand White and New Zealand Red. I actually think it will be easier to do them than chickens. They're cute but have zero personality!

We have NZW's and California meat rabbits. DH takes care of the processing. I like the babies when they are tiny, but by the time they're about 8 weeks old and eating machines, I'm over the cuteness factor.

And x2 on the zero personality, lol. (That could potentially offend some dedicated rabbit-eers so I'll just apologize now.)

Has your hubby used the rabbit wringer? It looks like a very fast and easy piece of equipment. Man, I'm all talk. I've only ever killed squirrels, mice and rats, and not with my hands! I hope I can do it!

I just asked him and he said he made a homemade one. I usually make myself scarce while that's going on so I really don't know how he does it. And I'm ok with that, lol.

Yes, my DD said SHE'S going to do it but somehow I think I will be there too.

I just saw your signature line...hehehe...I'm a Debbie! (Not a Debby, though I tried it for a while in 7th grade.)
