BYC Café

Hello my BYC friends. I have some good news:
My hens were getting sick, (upper respiratory problems) in seven of them. After much prayer, and doses of BAYTRIL, all the hens but one, seem to be responding to treatment.
Last week, I thought my flock was doomed.. THIS IS GREAT NEWS FOR ME, My birds are precious!

Good morning, Cafe. I've brewed the next pot to keep us all going.
I think Fabio is a just as pissed as I am about the 50 degree drop in temperature from yesterday to this morning. I blame Mother Nature. He however, blamed me and slammed into the back of my legs while I was filling the feed troughs. Turd. He got the squash and scoop again and had to stay with me for a good 15 minutes. I admit to having my hands around his throat more than once during those 15 minutes...
I kept explaining to him as I lovingly looked at Captain that Mr. Gorgeous over there will be happy to take your entire flock from you and one of his sons can come up as second in command. I could swear I heard Captain whispering "do it. DO IT!!" every time I had my hands around Fabio's neck.
I had the same situation, but he had gotten on my last nerve, so he never did that to anyone again. Some of them learn, some of them don't.

Hoorah! :clap

Good news! You have two extra starts already if it messes up!

I dont want to hoard the starter. :lau I've got the other two packed up & they are being shipped off to my sis & SIL today.

Our farmers market is still open (the only one in the entire county) but some of our regular vendors aren't there. I'm trying to encourage people there to get Venmo accounts so that no one has to touch cash.

Everyone that knows me calls me Trib, even my wife, so feel free to do the same. It is my real name shortened.

I am an Army brat, but I serve in the Navy. I am stationed in Southern California right now and I love it here.

I have the most beautiful, perfect, amazing wife anyone could want, a little girl who I smart, pretty, funny and adventurous, and a new baby boy with blue eyes like you've never seen.

We have 8 hens and 1 rooster. Today, I am drinking coffee and i have the day off. I slept on the couch to watch my colicky son so my overworked stay-at-home wife could get some rest. (we actually switch every day).

I have the day off, so I can do something about a chicken coup that's too small with some wooden shipping crates I acquired.

Hope everyone else is having just as wonderful a morning.

Trib
So positive. They sound amazing

Best wishes on the starter!

It is nice to think of the vendors at the market
