BYC Café

Hey cafe gang. Finally had 2 days of NO rain. Hubby getting a lot of dirt moved from the front of barn pad. :weeRain supposed to return for a few more days. Has got to be the wettest winter on record here in Arkansas. At least I found where the ducks started laying.
Time for a cup of decafe and an early rise to finish transplanting tomatoes in the greenhouse to get ahead of the rain. Hens hatching. Incubators all lined up. Still love farming:love
We had the driest January and February on record here!

We will be having tea and popcorn here soon

I set 8 eggs in the incubator, dialed in the temp and humidity, then the incubator ran out the door and complained about me plugging it into a new receptacle, but then noticed the beautiful clutch of eggs and finally settled in ...View attachment 2084019
That is lucky!

Actually I am going through a spell of not being hungry - really!! I've been told that I am an "empath" feel what others are going through. Maybe the "health professionals," are right.
I mean really "feel" what is hurting them..

It was bad enough when someone kept falling and "breaking' something but, with so many folks dying from covid 19, it's much worse. Almost wish for :smackto knock me out so I could get some peaceful sleep. The other couple days I was at the controls(computer) checking out BYC at 2:30 am etc. Need to turn if off - me not BYC.

BTW I signed up at "Pow wows.com" (it's free), after I went to one last Sept. I get several emails a week with cultural facts about various tribes, music, etc. However, read today many pow wows are cancelled through July & August because of the virus.

Many natives depend on the $$$ they can make selling their wares at pow wows. At pow wows.com they have filmed some of the dancers and singers at their homes to make something viewers can watch without compromising their health.

This all sucks, BTW I've read the Chinese have re-opened the wet market where all this disease began. Having said that, think I will head for bed and more nightmares.

Folks please stay well - I'm sure dying isn't half the fun people think it may be.

Good to see a top model incubator in use. I can't help but get the impression that some of those top line incubators are far too complicated for the hatchoholics to use.
I suppose one advantage of the inferior grade incubators is they don't peck and scream at people when they go to fiddle with the eggs. Must be terrifying for them really. I mean look at the fuss when a 12" 5lb rooster acts up.:lol:
