BYC Café

Good morning Cafe.
Coffee is made. Tea bags and kettle are on the counter.
Very short on patience this morning. There are a few threads here on BYC that are mostly about chickens and of course, someone just had to pour their baptist misery and superstition on one last night.:(
Mainly blue skies and sunshine here.
I'm thinking about moving to China.:p:D

Good to see a top model incubator in use. I can't help but get the impression that some of those top line incubators are far to complicated for the hatchoholics to use.
I suppose one advantage of the inferior grade incubators is they don't peck and scream at people when they go to fiddle with the eggs. Must be terrifying for them really. I mean look at the fuss when a 12" 5lb rooster acts up.:lol:
Kerrie is nice. Just like Barb. She puffs up and growls but that's all.
I set her up with the baby bottle this morning and hand fed her some All Flock mash with a few seeds sprinkled on it to get her interest. I'm leaving her locked in the brooder until tomorrow. She grew up in there and has already been out to the run so she knows where to go when her daily constitutional urge strikes.
I need to refashion the broody hen door. I have some unused new sliding drawer glides. I was thinking about using one to make a sliding door. It will take a bit of design but a sliding door will work much better with the coop bedding.
Now that I get regular broody hens, I will never again purchase chicks. The brooder is now a maternity ward.

Good morning, Cafe - bright, breezy and brisk here too. Spent much of yesterday picking up sticks from the lawn - need to mow lawn.
Me too. But I have other "things" I need to pick up from the lawn and DH broke three tines off the poly doodie fork so the "things" keep rolling through the gaps.
In my interest to limit contact with the general public, I'm only shopping 2x a week so getting a replacement metal tine fork will have to wait until tomorrow mornings run.
I did, however, buy a personal battery jumper that is all charged up and ready to get the lawn tractor rolling!

Not afraid of the water. She'll enjoy swimming in the creek on hot summer days.

BTW I signed up at "Pow wows.com" (it's free), after I went to one last Sept. I get several emails a week with cultural facts about various tribes, music, etc. However, read today many pow wows are cancelled through July & August because of the virus.

Many natives depend on the $$$ they can make selling their wares at pow wows. At pow wows.com they have filmed some of the dancers and singers at their homes to make something viewers can watch without compromising their health.

This all sucks, BTW I've read the Chinese have re-opened the wet market where all this disease began. Having said that, think I will head for bed and more nightmares.

Folks please stay well - I'm sure dying isn't half the fun people think it may be.

I'm glad you are going to try to get some sleep. Usually when you can't sleep your body is low on melatonin. They have an across the counter Melatonin in 1 mg. This what my husband takes when he's not sleeping well. Sweet dreams.

Good Morning Cafe second or third pot hot here ... I found Melatonin like a year ago now
found one without Iron or crustacean at Costco .. I like how it works no dreary in the morning ..
Dobie look at Bella that is how Fear-ah was here day and night to find the freedom and unending love ..... Gosh I miss her still

But if a person is on anti depression meds, not supposed to take Melatonin.
