BYC Café

My oven behaves pretty well :fl but, one of four stove top thingies won't go on. Who cares I can use a different one. Gas stove not electric and I don't care to try and re-light it with gas on(as needed). That's a man's job and since none are here since my father passed many years ago- I can do without..

That happens to a gas burner when the spark is not working-- clean the contacts-- or when the air channel is dirty. some if them need to have the part that goes on top moved a bit

Meg, they are saying a possible 1.5 feet for us. I was just starting to see the garden area too. My DGD came and told her Daddy that Barbie couldn't climb the slide back up, so it all worked out fine. A fishing hook and some string...
My oven baking element didn't WORK when I tried to bake my bread today, so I broiled it undercover and it came out tolerably well. The new part gets shipped on Monday.
Silliness all around!
Have a great evening! Is anyone else noticing that people are howling outside at exactly 8PM? They rock and roll around here for sure. It might be a regional thing... but it is kinda
nice in a weird way.
Oh my goodness, Margie. That's a lot of darn snow! I'm not sure what we've gotten total, but about 6" on the level. Isn't that the worst, you can just start to see gardening in your future and then it stacks up? Stay safe and warm!

Sorry to hear about the oven. That's a real pain in the buns.

I just keep having crying spells - not like me. My sister had sent me cartoons(my son later put up on BYC for me) where a dog owner is at the gates of heaven and the gate keeper says the dog(whatever name it was) has been telling him for 50 years how great his owner was.

That sets me off every time I think about it. I had so many dogs (since I was a breeder) and wonder if Heaven could hold them all. It's not like I am the only person who had dogs.
The only one I am sure of would be my soulmate (Tots) he always had a tennis ball in his mouth) and till his last day on earth(had to be euthanized) he wanted someone to throw it for him.

Tots would have been 58 if he hadn't passed away. His congestive heart failure was bad enough but, the last couple of days he went into kidney failure. He was only 11. His son who never would bother with a tennis ball made it to 14 (had cancer). Dogs don't cheat and dogs don't lie. Just couldn't take losing another one. If there was one good vet in this world, I sure as heck never found him.

I have two yellow tennis balls left. Tots only liked the white ones - yes, he could tell the difference. They stopped making white ones. I even wrote the tennis ball companies and they said yellow was more visible and the yellow dye MIGHT badly affect a dog. I've checked out pet stores and they only have yellow also.

If I ever land in heaven, I would want to bring him a white one.

That is a lovely thought!

I bet you can get a white tennis ball in heaven

Good morning Cafe.
Coffee is made. Tea bags and kettle on the counter.
Grey and cloudy here this morning.
I've been watching some crows trying to discourage a Goshawk from hanging around in the trees on the West ridge. I hope the chickens have seen it!
Apparently some people here are allowed to go back to work tomorrow but nobody has made it clear just who such some people are.
It's all going to go horribly wrong.
