BYC Café

Good morning Cafe.
Coffee is made. Tea bags and kettle on the counter. There's some olive bread and goats cheese with the rest. I recommend the olive bread.
Quite windy here and this is moving the clouds. The sun shows it face from time to time but then it pisses down with rain again. Hopefully this weather front is moving away. I can even see patches of blue sky. Chickens are out flat out foraging. I don't think they got much to eat yesterday.
I've got one bantam hen out on a nest somewhere. Need to find her today.
I hope you don't get a bunch of mudslides and flooding from all the rain.
I'd be nervous about that nesting bantam too!
Here's hoping for a sunny day for you.

Good morning, Cafe. Thanks for the coffee, Shad. I think I'll try a slice of that olive bread.

It snowed here last night. There is bright green grass poking up through it. I need to jump the tractor and cut the grass but that's a bit difficult to do with the snow.

Have a great day, everyone! Last day of work.

Morning all :frow and thanks for the coffee Shad, and goat's cheese with olive bread :drool That's me sorted for lunch then...

sunny and dry again here today; wish I had some tile adhesive, because I want to have a go at mosaic and this weather is perfect for it. Apparently some of the DIY stores are getting ready to reopen; it's a pity they weren't open earlier in the lockdown, because lots of people could have used their time at home much more productively than sitting on a sofa watching the TV, or Youtube etc.

Who can pick out the broody hen on a break??
Gee, the only thing that would make her more obvious would be a flag saying "I'm broody, keep AWAY!!!"
but the serious people know about eating the roots of certain plants like Burdock
I don't want to eat burdock roots, I want to kill them. Kill, kill, kill, kill!!!!!

Maybe you can get some geo tracking tags!

It's still pissing down with rain. The flood gullies by the lower fields are full on rivers again.
I've been down to some friends at the bottom of the track today and if rains overnight the track will be impassable in the morning.
I did get a nice loaf of olive bread and some locally produced butter. Olive oil, which is normally reasonably priced here has shot up in price; way beyond my budget atm.
All the chickens went off to bed early. I've got young Moon in the house nest box while I make sure her egg laying cycle switches off. It's that miserable I've got the wood burner going.
Luckily we grow a lot of olives here in California

I have to figure out what type of bread to make next..I do have some kalamata olives...

We did not have any snow last night...not surprising though...

I am working from home still
