I'm gutting the best room in the house - the bathroom!

I am removing the fiberglass tub/surround unit and installing just a 32x60 shower stall with grab bars instead, installing a bathroom fan and a recessed light over the shower stall and tiling the floor and the walls up to about 48". I can't do Travertine. I used that as a backsplash in dads house and a previous flip. It's gorgeous but expensive.
The cabinets in mom's kitchen are in great shape and have solid wood boxes and doors, they're just butt ugly. I'm going to paint them. I did that at my last flip and the difference was amazing. She's getting granite counters and brand new appliances.
We found a discount tile place in FL, and the Travertine was quite affordable.

Thanks for the coffee DL.

I'll bet your parents are grateful that you can do all you do for them!
Well... my mom is grateful.
I'd like to think my dad would have approved of everything I'm doing on his house and for mom. He died a bit over 2.5 years ago.
I always call the house my parents were in for 34 years dad's house because he just wouldn't let it go even though it was WAAAAAAAAY too much for him to take care of in his later years. Now I am fixing everything that was neglected because he just couldn't. And now I'm finally getting my mom into a single level house. I had tried about 3 years before dad died to get them to move to a small, single level house like I have. I was going to renovate it for them so it was nice a new, just like I'm doing now. When dad bought mom a chair lift, I stopped trying. At that point I knew he'd never leave.

When I went out to do the birds this morning, none of them were in the run. I thought that was unusual. Then I noticed that the floor fan was tipped over. So I figured that had spooked them and they all went into the coop. I assumed it was the chicks that did it.
It was not! This hen is such an airhead. She is the one who plucked Fabio's and Captain's beard and muff. She's also been after several of the other Easter Eggers. She is also my let down broody. I think I'm going to sell her this fall...

Good afternoon Cafe.
Thanks for the coffee DL.
Sunny this morning and a get out there and get stuff done kind of day. But, some friends from the coast turned up and I must confess I've chatted a lot and done very little.
Now the clouds have rolled in and the forecast is for a further week of rain. Now there's something to look forward to.

Hi folks. I'm Teri and I live in VA. Hubby retired from the USCG and I am retired from the school system. This is my second go around with chickens but I have done so much preparing this time, I'm hoping to have ironef out issues I had last time before they occur! Have 3 adorable Barred Rocks and 3 hyper Silver Laced Wyandottes. All hens, 6 weeks old and I've had them since 4 days - all loves. Have spiffed up the inside of the coop, hoping for ease in cleaning this time but am in such a quandry about what to put on the brand new linoleum floor. Have never done one of these before so I'm just hoping I can find you again!

I put shavings on mine.
