BYC Café

The air has finally cooled and dried out...I am ecstatic!! :wee
Yesterday was a bear, day before wasn't much better.

Cockerel mounting the single pullet in coop this morning,
too bad for him I was holding the rake at the time.<evilcackle>
Almost 12 weeks, time for those 3 boys to go soon,
a bit worried about how the Single Sister will fare in the flock.
Had this situ before but there was a younger group of chicks she hung with.
...and hen gone broody in nest last night, tempted to let her go for it, but nope she's in the breaker crate as of this afternoon. Too hot and not enough divisions in my set up.

I am so happy to hear they are back think we all thought the devil got them
just took frozen vegies to the birds
After all the discussion about predators and the tomcat, I can't help but now wonder if him showing up prompted her to hide them then bring them back when the coast was clear.

My only other incubator is in the psych ward.
I suppose you could use her in a pinch just until they hatch then throw her back into the ward before she can hurt them.

The only ray of hope I have is that I watched her tuck and adjust the eggs when I went out to give her fresh water.
But I just heard her calling the chicks to her for food.
Ooh, :fl

What I was told it is the thyroid replacement can damage your kidneys
Oh that isn't good! My niece had her thyroid taken out about 15 years ago, she's 29 now.

She's panting to beat the band out there. It's 97F with a heat index of 105F. Pure and utter misery.
Maybe you don't even need an incubator with that sort of heat!

That way if bad stuff doesn't happen, I can be pleasantly surprised.
Right, expect the worst and you'll never be upset when something not good happens. ;)

The kittens are back!!! :wee :wee :wee
Yay!!!!!!
