Here they made me take off my dark glasses immediately closed my eyes she took the picture that way

that's a decent reason. There is very little done here to prevent/deter people whose sight and/or hearing and/or other faculties are failing from continuing to drive (Prince Philip being a notable example. He gave it up very recently, following his causing a serious crash). I guess a renewal system makes it easier for everyone when someone should be stopped from driving for every other road user's sake (not renewing must be more palatable than rescinding one that was issued for life). I used to have an uncle whose deteriorating driving skills caused a lot of angst to more conscientious family members.

penny I believe it. I needed a state ID(don't drive, no car etc.) They determined if I paid $ 20. I would get a ID card that wouldn't expire till 99,99,99 so I guess it was worth it.

When the guy tried to take a photo of me, the camera kept malfunctioning. After the 3rd or 4th. time I just sat there rolling my eyes. Of course that's when the camera worked.

What's funny is I had very short hair back then, and now have very long (half way down my back) snow white hair - I love it.

Coffee is made.
It's a fruit and cold jerky type breakfast morning.
It's downright dangerous outside.
