I checked Astrid when I came home to get Fuji to take her to the vet.
There is a blue shell and membrane under her. I didn't see the chick or the other 3 eggs. I don't want to disturb her too much.
If the chick dies, will she remove it from the nest?
They have left dead chicks at the nest site here. I take them out as soon as I'm certain they're dead.

Have thought about that, would rather slaughter all the males at once, but maybe.
Had this same broody hatch ratio before, but there was a younger batch of chicks the Sister joined. Don't want her to be alone, but also don't need her constantly harassed by a cockerel. DecisionsDecisions.

Was the damaged egg blue?
She might, she might not, maybe take a good look under that tonight after dark.
Pull out any empty shells....and the egg/chick if it's dead.
Yes, it was blue.

They generally kick out bad eggs.

Thoughts please...
The chick had fallen out of the nest and was between it and the wall; behind them as you look at the picture.
Would it be too risky to put Astrid and the nest in the brooder with the chicks?
There's obvious risk to leaving her where she is.

Awww Thank you
Pretty warm here today, 32C with 47% humidity. Apparently it's going to crank up a bit more until Sunday when storms are forecast.
Looking for a way to fit some body armour to this chap. Need to get the air to it so the scales harden up.
Liquid bandage?
Happy birthday, Penny!
Thank you 60 do not feel it at all

I would not move her.
Wondered about the nest being so open.
Can you put some HC or wood sides around nest to keep babies from falling?
