Here the City sends out an inspector when a house is sold to make sure that no work requiring a permit was performed and if they find any, they will make you pay fines.

It is quite silly since things like changing a water heater are not hard to do

Your right there and living in the small town like we do things are pretty well done without permits

It is also California!

In some of the SF Bay area cities, new houses cannot have gas appliances or heaters. Eventually they want all houses to have that restriction.

Hopefully that will not spread out to where I live since I love cooking with gas!

Okay so Natural gas is what they are doing away with ..
We live far out in the sticks so to speak no natural gas here .. Everything we want less electric will be propane

They do say natural Gas but I have not seen Propane in those Cities. I doubt they would allow it either.

They want all electric and then have the electric come for solar, wind and other renewable sources
