Other than severely bruised legs and hocks, and ants eating her up, not a clue. Could have fallen off the roost during the night and was so paralyzed from the fall she couldn't move. Why she fell is another unanswered question.. Could be someone was pecking at her and she ran out of perch space. Week before last I had to doctor her right eye as it was swollen shut and the area above the eye was swollen too. Echinacea tea washes and Bag Balm quickly solved that issue. I have a BO baby that loves pecking.

I hate it when a chicken is sick and I have no idea why.

Well, to be honest... I cried and prayed.. a lot. Poor thing couldn't tell me what hurt so I had no clue.. I just got her warmed back up with my body heat, and when her little cheeps became stronger and turned to almost a purr.. I knew she was improving. We have developed some sort of bond now. I take her out, and she explores but comes running back, laying next to my leg or hand or on my lap.

Good job. Seems like a lot of people are having issues like that.

Ya know, H2O has a wonderful link about merek's in his/her sig block. I went and read it from top to bottom. Could be from something she picked up on the ground that was toxic like bird shot, or eating something bad causing botulism.. a lot of stuff mimics mereks.. Thing is, everyone else in her group and now her coop are strong and healthy. She's a meek little thing and is probably at the bottom of the pecking order. As quiet as the two BO's are, they are pushy little critters.

Something good in 2020 We had to do banking today little shopping .. Told BF we should have lunch, well he did not want to end result his blood sugar hit a low. Cussed him good I came back from cleaning coops the Son was panicking cuz his Dad was low and out of it got peanut butter sandwich and a half plus 2 peanut butter cookies I make and a small dish of cashews
