Yikes!! Hang in there all you easterners.
Sounds like the one we got here last Nov, except it wasn't quite predicted.

Flock of a dozen turkeys flew across my yard, 3 landed in the trees.
Quite the spectacle, don't often see them flying.
Saw them headed over the road yesterday afternoon.

I had no idea that they were capable of flying so high!

My area is stupid with turkeys. I see them marching through the woods behind our house and going up the road frequently.

One year, when I was still living in Binghamton, I was hiking with my first pack of 3 Dobermans when Dylan came upon a mother and her poults. That flock burst off the ground like a fireworks display going in every which direction. The dogs just stopped wherever they were looking at them all, about as stunned as I was. That's a great strategy. All the predators were too shocked and confused to move let alone pursue.

I just watched that stupid squirrel come around from the back of the run around to the door then climb up on the door. You can just make him out hanging on it in the image. The top of him is about even with the bracket next to the door jamb. He then climbed to the top and probably up onto the roof.

Little slacker! Didn't stash enough nuts for the winter, huh? Just thought you'd keep coming in and stealing from the chickens, huh?

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready... I've dragged out the big boy. I expect we on the east coast are going to need to caffeine infuse throughout the day.
We are now in the band expecting 9-16" of snow. Starting at 1:00. I'm not sticking around work after it starts.
I posted this picture trying to make a point on another thread but didn't notice who's in the heated water bowl. I'll be locking the birds up in the coop/run for the next several weeks because I don't like letting them out to wander just outside the door to the pen in the snow without easy access to the chicken bush so the fluffy little tree rat will have to forage for his own damn food.
