No rush given we don't yet know how effective the current vaccines are on the original virus strain let alone if it works on any new strains.
I wouldn't be throwing that mask away, or throwing any parties either.

Realist, Shad, realist. By the time the shot is available to me enough will have been vaccinated to show any immediate problems, and as for the long term . I'll take the shot.

And starting Monday = tomorrow, all movement of travellers whether by sea route or rail traffic will end, even the tunnel will be closed.

yes we do - that's what all the testing (prior to approval) is for.
And what appears to be the case with the new new strain (there have been dozens since covid19 emerged a year ago) is that it is transmitted 70% more easily. But it does not appear to be any more lethal, or resistant to the vaccine, or have any other obvious different attributes.

The Czech Republic follows as of Monday, France has already stopped the movement of passengers entirely.

Bulgaria and Ireland stop incoming flights from England as of midnight.

That remains to be seen. But from what I am able to read at the moment - info updates coming in very fast - this seems to apply to all traffic, or at least very soon will.

Tourists already brought the new strain to Italy a few days ago when coming back by airplane from England, landing in Rome. They are quarantined.
