I have not been grabbed by our ghost but feel the presence in Cats room and my closet .. Often a light comes on .. or the cats will hiss
My neighbors once said they have a ghost who lives at their house. They said she’s a very peaceful woman who looks out for & protects them.

Funny because I forgot all about them telling me this until they asked if I could dog sit their dog for a week at their house instead of mine. Places always feel weird out of context, in this case empty & silent, but that’s normal. What’s not normal is feeling like someone is following every step you take & metaphorically breathing down your neck like you’re a criminal. I remembered then the conversation we’d had years before about this ‘protective woman’ & went right into mantra mode, “I’m a friend. I’m here to take care of the dog. I’m a friend. I’m here to take care of the dog. I’m a friend. I’m here to take care of the dog... “

It was ...um... awkward.

@aart do you weigh your eggs when hatching? I'm trying to decide if I should with every day or day 3, 7 etc.
I did once, it was a PITA...too much math for my little brain.
I do better with visuals so I trace air cells when candling on day 7-10-14 to monitor moisture loss and adjust humidity.

Is that the only time you take them out? I don't want to futz with them too much, but I don't want to miss something I can fix. Also, I feel like I'm not doing anything and it's too hands off for my little brain :th

Well, then I candle again on day 18 when I take out the turner.
Sometimes I'll candle earlier if I have a wonky egg(detached air cell).
And I candle just before setting to look for cracks or meat spots and to trace air cell.

Is this your first hatch?
It is a lot of sitting and waiting....even more so with a broody, when I only candle on about day 10 to remove any duds.
Some folks candle constantly, not for me.

Yep, first one. I've candled broodies before, but don't mess with them too much. I did candle before I set them to check for cracks or overly porous shells and also weighed them.

When we lost Dad I was 13 about a week later I told Ma Dad was still watching us.. A friend of the folks came over later that week said he had visited her time and day was same as I said.. I have never doubted he watches out for me ..
I do not think it is my Dad here but the original owner him or her not sure which

Yes, but not create an issue with handling and such.
I have not found weighing to make much of a difference in hatch rate.

It does seem to appeal to those with a scientific mind though

I hope the hatch goes well!

It is very addicting
