BYC Café

When do you normally tend the flock in the morning?
Not until it's good and light out, even tho they are fairly safe in the run....so time varies.
Today was about 8:30.

Semi-sloppy slickery mess out there!
Half frozen slush, heavy, luckily less than a half inch.
Was nice to get all the frozen poops off the boards and other places.
Supposed to stay right around 32 today, rising by 4-5pm, but 39 tomorrow with sun.

Good morning, cafe. Thanks for the coffee, DL. Sorry to hear you got sick from that stuff. As if the whole deal isn't bad enough.

It was 37° at 5:30am! High wind warning again, gusts up to 75mph...again. Ugh, wind. Roads a bare, though!

Was peeking at my eggs last night to see if anyone was trying to pip. Like a kid looking through the candy store window :gig I was starting to feel kind of silly, but then an egg wiggled! So fun. Humidity pretty steady at 68%.

I can see myself sleeping in the coop so that I can watch! Ok, probably not.

Let us know what's going on!
I was staring at them so long my eyes were going buggy!
Wait till you hear the first peep from an internally pipped egg.
It's like
Eek, I can't wait! Next time will definitely be on a weekend :D

Morning! DH is on his way to TX. Crazy winds here as well and I made it down and out of the driveway early AM but no such luck getting back up and my footpath to the door is all blown in.
Sigh! They say heavy snow in a few days, so I guess I had better get some driveway prep done and bring down more firewood! Tomorrow is supposed to be less windy and warm.
Let's hope!
Meg, brew more coffee and take something for a sore neck that is in your future! Have FUN and enjoy the day, Cafe!

Well, don't feel silly! From what I heard and experienced myself ever since I own an incubator, we all sit in front of it talking to the eggs and wistfully awaiting the first wiggle or even beep from the eggs to cheer them on!

Some of us setup web cams too!
