BYC Café

Good morning and thanks for the coffee! I tried to see the lunar eclipse, but it was cloudy, so I went and woke the horses up to feed them. :)
Meg, that calf is definitely a looker, but not as cute as Chewy. Glad you are doing well!
I am waiting for our weather to get a smidge warmer.
We found out yesterday that DH, did indeed have the Vid. He is on day 16 from when he came down with it, so not contagious by all standards, but he is still in rest mode. He gets really mad at me when I tell him to take it easy, but he doesn't put up a fight so I know he is definitely not back to normal. I am very glad that I got the vaccine! I had nothing but a runny nose but I still assumed that it was the Vid until he was well enough to go get tested. I think he is over me peering at him like he is a bug under a microscope/ science experiment but he was refusing to go to the doc and so I was checking on him constantly, ordering him to drink water, checking o2 sat and all that fun stuff.
He would have had an easier time of it had he just gone to the doc! But he is still here to complain about it so we celebrate year 36 in June! LOL! :lau

Good morning, Cafe', and thanks DL. Pansies are still beautiful in 5 lawn planters, but the heat will soon change that. Replacing plants in the 'window boxes' on the porch today. Ferns on porch are doing great.
That sounds lovely. I always wanted to work in a garden/nursery. At least I think that, but then I think I'd just be antisocial and want to talk to the plants and everyone would leave me alone haha :lau
First job 'post college' was in Duke Gardens Foundation on the Doris Duke estate. My favorite part of the job was working in the nursery. Least favorite was conducting tours of the greenhouses and display gardens.

I've looked that place up before. I bet it was a lovely place to work in.

It was 'interesting'. I enjoyed the work and my fellow employees. Management was terrified of the owner which led to some interesting happenings. I was responsible for growing the chrysanthemums for the fall display - I really enjoyed this. We raised hanging baskets and espalliers ? to be displayed throughout the garden. Many/most varieties were perennials of Japanese origin.

We are finally getting some much needed rain. For those of you who have too much, sorry to sound so happy about rain, but I am... very happy. We could get more on Friday too. :ya

Today is chiropractor day. Then I go see my "daughter" who has Lymphoma. She may have lost her hair by now. I'm telling myself that that means she's farther along in the treatment. As my physical therapist said when I was rehabbing my broken wrist, "The only way out is through."
I hope you get some good coffee today too!
