Babies came in! They fibbed a bit because there is no way the chicks could have gotten here by 730 if they left Omaha at 6. But they are all alive!

They look great except for these three. I put them on hating pad and forced a little sugar water down them. 2 look a bit better, one may notso much yet

That's the stuff I use for at least the first week. Plus their Probiotic

So do people give this to grown birds during the hot months? I started this as early in the year as i could, to try to get rid of most of them before the August heat.

I have not given it to adults in the summer, but I wouldn't hesitate to do so, if they seemed a bit sluggish or anything.

How are the 3 doing now?

by the way, I weighed this stuff out and calculated smaller portions, because I only make it in 3 cups of water at a time, instead of gallons. 1/8 teaspoon per cup of water.

I will look for it the next time we go to the feed store.
They are all standing. The strongest will walk a bit and is eating a tad. He might need to be returned to the others if he starts trying to escape my cake pan. The other two were much weaker then him when i got them, they still are not eating or moving. But they do stand and cheep o much improved.

Try egg yolk soup. I mash a hard boiled egg yolk, a few drops of honey and a few grains of salt. Mix in a little water until it's a slurry and feed it with a dropper or spoon. Has lots of good vitamins and things chicks need,
