I FINALLY took care of the 2 trees that fell in the storm.

I also cut the grass. I was a week past due because something's gotta give if I'm going to get this house done. But when the grass gets too long the frogs can't get out of the way of the tractor fast enough. I saw a frog leg on the lawn. I hate that.

Of course, you had to cut up the trees to mow the lawn!

I almost an over a rather large black snake the last time I mowed.

Got up at 5 to try and get some stuff done before the heat rises.
That's the plan for the next few days...
....chores and cooking early, rest of the day under the ceiling fan.

I remember going back to work after time off, and it felt like rest after physically working so hard.

Yeah, @aart, it is going to be oppressively hot and humid here till the weekend. Whew.

Oh, I forgot to mention... The Sparta Celtic Festival will be this Saturday, Aug.14th in Sparta. There is a Michigan (Grand valley State U grads!) band called Crossbow playing. They. Are. GOOD. DH and I will be there, for sure.

The Michigan Irish Music Festival in Muskegon was canceled back in May, perhaps a little prematurely. Though bands come from Europe to play, so I can see why they did it. However, there is going to be a smaller festival on September 18th. We're going to that too. We love these two festivals, and want to support them.

If anyone is going, let me know; I'd love to meet people and and say hi.

I saw a vole (or mouse?) in the grass when I was mowing the alpaca/chicken field. I must have run it over with the wheels, no physical damage noted.
