BYC Café

Known as the 'Caniche' or duck dog. Germany is also claimed as a possible origin, but dogs pictured appear 'non poodle' other than coat.
Yes, but not every claim is true, and the FCI registers the origin as french:

ETA: I honestly don't care where the origin lies, I just like the large black variety very much, but without the ridiculous (sometimes even abusive) clips

Nah, the french just screwed up the Hairdos :gig
Well, actually the French shrank them for flea catchers.

Wherever they came from originally, whatever color they are, or however their hair is cut....
.....the larger poodles are great dogs.

Good morning everyone!

A fresh pot of hot coffee is on the counter, so hepl yourselves to a nice cup and join me.

Autumn is in full swing, the leaves begin to fall and the rain just won't stop. Chickens are molting heavily, but thankfully they still lay a nice number of eggs daily.

Good riddance.
Indeed.
I usually feel a tad guilty when doing a foxfeed cull, but not so much this time.

Do you have new pullets laying....or are your molting birds actually laying?

His foot is looking better.

After covering it with a non-stick pad and gauze, I wrap half of a feminine hygiene pad with the plastic wrapping still on the top over the dressing to pad his foot bones so he doesn't get sores from the co-flex rubbing the boney points. I learned that trick the hard way.
