BYC Café

DL, sorry you won't have your family together. But, yeah, better to be safe.

This year, instead of giving each other gifts, DH and I did our DNA through ancestry.com. We got the email saying the results are in, but we're waiting until Christmas morning to look at them.

I originally was not thrilled with having my most personal information where someone could access it. But since my fingerprints are on file, well, I'm hardly anonymous anymore!

My sister and her son had to cancel their NYC holiday.
Sorry to hear that.

Another girl is laying!:wee

I'm not sure if it's the third pullet, or if it's one of the hens. Both have red combs and wattles. I *think* the shell color is lighter than the hens have made, and my third pullet is a Jubilee Orp, and the only Orp I have, so maybe....? Is 52 grams out of line for a first egg from an Orp?

Good morning Café!

Fresh coffee is ready for all in need, have a go at it!

Going in to the city today. Trying to find some inspiration for a couple of Christmas gifts.
So tell us, did you find what you were looking for?

What a unique and very special christmas gift! Makes me wonder about my own ancestry, while some of it is well known, there might be other interesting genes farther down the line to explore...

We will meet with the other son and daughter in law the 22 in Olympia for lunch at the mall cafe open air ...

Yes, open air is the way to go. That's what we do too.

Have only one pullet still laying.
The others are molting. SMH.
After almost two months of laying, one of my pullets (she was the first to lay) started molting two days ago. Very weird, never had this happen before with pullets.

But maybe she is the one that got broody too, as one of the 12 pullets surprised me with broody poops starting 10 days ago and her eggs are missing since about the same time as well. :idunno
