Do you have a dog race course somewhere near you can go with her?

Sadly, no And I'd need a car to get out to the smaller towns that do. I don't know anyone who wants to drive that far (or drives, period). I could do a flirt pole with her. I'm certain she would get a kick out of that!

A flirt pole is a long stick with a bit of twine or shoelace attached to it. Attached to the twine is a toy or piece of fabric. You swing the toy/fabric around to mimic the movements of prey and the dog is supposed to chase that Very popular when training a dog to race!

Ahaaa, I see! We use something similar or more like a fishing rod to train our young hunting dog puppies.

He'd been subpar since spring, back and forth all summer,
found him dead on the board this morning.

Loss of Willie is hitting me way harder than any of the others over the years.
Might be the beginning of the end.
I've been a bit ambivalent of keeping/growing a flock this last year or so.
Who knows what the future might hold.
Meanwhile it will be interesting to have an all female flock for the time being,
never had that before.
Sigh.

Maybe just fewer aart mainly as pets.
