I was out in the woods yesterday and must have see 5 or 6 ground hog holes. I already know there's a raccoon in one of the outbuildings, and may have a nest in there.

At least you can trap a raccoon.
Hopefully the ground hogs will stay out in the woods.

Deer are really hard to trap.

But, my Papillon will chase them off if she sees them.

Yes, but is she out all night when they usually come to feed?
Tho having good fence with dogs inside can definitely help to deter them.

Wow, didn't know that. I have seen a few light blood streaks, but on a different bird's eggs. I'll be watching out for this going forward, for sure. Thanks for the info.

To check for mites, put on a head lamp and check the coop after dark. Mites hide in the corners of the coop and come out to feed at night.

I have never gotten a raccoon in a trap. Tried, but failed. Still trying. However, there is one less ground hog out there now.

Not sure if this is the correct place to put this, but it is a Café and this is food related….

Saw the second GH I knew was out there, outside the fence so was able to get a few shots off but missed.
