Maggie liked her old spa, and they liked her - she was just too much dog for them to handle. Think 60 pounds of bone and muscle in constant motion.

I made a jar of sauerkraut, first time ever, and I will see what happens in a couple of weeks.
I have had the pickling stones for awhile, but now I have the time to pay attention to it.
And a head of extra green cabbage came my way too...

Afternoon, cafe folks! Still wet and cold here as well; three inches of snow this morning. Most of it is now melted. As much as I wish the weather was nicer, at this point I think I will just be grateful for the moisture.

Is anyone else waiting on hatchery orders? I get to pick mine up next month and am a bit stir-crazy over it. It's been several years since I've had over fifteen birds, so I'm unreasonably excited. (And slightly nervous.)

Hope the sauerkraut turns out well!

Got one house mouse last night.
No sign of ground hog today.
Very windy(not like out west, but still), power blipped once.
Looks like the house across the street is for active sale again,
it's been empty for a couple years.

I caught a raccoon. Not the raccoon. It's still in the outbuilding. So I reset the trap and we'll see what's there tomorrow.

The neighbors have a pitbull who roams at night, then comes home and sleeps during the day. I think he's been keeping the population of critters down, but we have a LOT of critters.

Good Sourkraut takes weeks if not a few months underground.. Please let me know how it comes out.

GH spotted in back field this afternoon, had to wait until it moved to a place where run wasn't in the line of fire. Hit it, not sure I killed it tho, went to check and found a den hole very close to edge of woods/field.
