BYC Café

I met with contractor number 6 yesterday. Ding, ding, ding, ding!!! We have a winner!
Super nice guy. Came highly recommended by a co-worker. Definitely knows his stuff. We'll tackle it on the next dry spell.
Excellent! I'm very glad to hear this.

DH is going to retire in just over a month. They are having a really hard time finding someone to replace him. The owner knows just about everyone in the business, so when someone lists a reference, he knows that person well enough to call them up and ask for their opinion.

He is hearing lots of stuff. Like yeah, so-and-so know his stuff, but he shows up to work only when he feels like it. Or, we fired him after a month. Or, that guy sounds like he knows what he's talking about, but he doesn't, and he won't take suggestions or instruction.

DH has said he won't leave them high and dry, and he's willing to work part time as needed. He did mention that we'll be gone for a week in July. He hadn't put in for the time off because he'd thought he'd be retired.

I am so lucky to have ended up with such a loyal, hard working, good, honest, talented person! :love

This is just one spot. It's awfully hard not to scratch them!

And I blamed Bella needlessly.
The rash from contact with the oils of poison oak can take 24-48 hours to appear. It showed up at just about 48 hours on the nose after we cut up that poplar that fell in my yard in the April snow storm. Shadow's owners came over. Hubs cut up the trunk and his wife and I hauled the chunks to the burn pile. The trunk had vines climbing along it. I looked up poison oak and it was a match.
I put vinegar on itchy spots. Helps a lot.

I wish we could get on with my studio build already!

Last night i went to ceramics class and discovered that i can still throw clay on the wheel. Been at least 5 years since i did that.

It's that stuff in the scrub that I used to clean the rash spots when I first noticed them. But the reaction had already started and the blisters formed.
I didn't want to scrub so hard that I broke the blisters
I have used one that is for after from them that worked too. It can also help when you first notice the rash--The poison oak oil is persistent and can still be on your skin even then.
