Tilled all morning but made the path 8 x 20 when done.
Started raining on us.

These boogers and ruining my fern!
Blame the mother! Those poor little things had no choice in their hatch location.
:)

I had to cancel getting DH tonight. I woke up with a sore throat, nasal and chest congestion and I feel like crud now. I'm going to have to get tested tomorrow.
Sorry to hear that. Do you have any home tests? DW came down with Covid Tues, had likely already shared and I got it Thursday morning (for sure, was suspecting Wed night).

Not surprised when the rapid test came back positive in 2 minutes. I'm feeling better now but she's still down. We both got Paxlovid. Her Rheumatoid Arthritis and over 2 decades on immune suppressing drugs beat my extra age for "resistance" even though she's had 3 Pfizer and 1 Moderna vaccine since April last year.

I decided to rake the lawn and put another layer of mulch on the garden beds.

This is how the front landscaping came out now that everything has come in. I need to replace a few things that didn't make it but I like it.

Looking very posh DL.

I have little doubt that Covid is here to stay, in one form or another. I don't know if DH and I have been really lucky and escaped it so far, or have gotten it and been asymptomatic. Everyone else on our road has gotten it (4 houses); one of them was vacc'd and boosted, as we are, the others didn't want to get shots, for various reasons.

Very nice right now, but storms are forecast for this afternoon. There could be some heavy rain and high winds with this. Stay safe, @aart!

When Dad died and mom had to move to the senior living community, she was told she could only have a single pet under 35 pounds. She chose to take her cat.
I couldn't take Lady, their English pointer, as she was so timid that Ben was way too much for her. They'd lived together along with 2 other Dobermans, Fuji and Skittles for 6 weeks at our house while my dad recovered from knee replacement surgery. Lady slept under our bed every night.
I found a wonderful new home for Lady with the condition that mom would continue to pay for all her expenses.
I said I'd take Skittles and she agreed to pay for his expenses too as would have been the case if dad were still alive.
Then the psych show Crazy Sister came on the scene and you all know how that went down.
The last time I "spoke" to my mother was 9/11/21 to remind her that she still hadn't paid me for the last three months of Skittles expenses. I got so sick of her games that I asked my normal sister if she would act as the go between. She is the one that delivered the big vet bills when Skittles got so sick this January.
At any rate, I tallied up what she owed for Skittles from Sept 1 to May 1 and good sis gave her the bill before I left for vacation. But she kept forgetting to get the check.
After the second reminder she called mom and said she was coming over for the check.
She was standing in the carport about to knock on the door when she heard Crazy Sister say very loudly, "when are you going to tell her to just put him down?"
My sister went in and CS gave her as big smile. She wanted her to hear it. Good sis immediately jumped to Skittles' defense saying there is nothing wrong with him and he looks and acts like a dog that is much younger.
To which CS replied, "he's like 18 years old and he's sick. Don't you remember the huge vet bill?"
Good sister couldn't comment about his age (he's 14.5 years old) but said he just got sick and is fully recovered. "Bella had the same thing about a month before Skittles did." To which CS replied "What the hell is she feeding them?!!"
"I like to feed them week old, bloated road kill with toxic sludge gravy" I said to sis. "Did you get the check?"
Here is my dying, miserable boy.
