I think we'll get some rain.

Just now heard a good crack of thunder!
Did you get hit @Sally PB ?
We got nailed with high winds, pouring rain and dime sized hail.
Garage flooded, and probably the chicken run too,
but no trees fell on the house so that's a good thing

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

I spent most of the night coughing my lungs up. I'm still exhausted and my throat is killing me.

The junco chicks that were raised in my impatiens basket hanging near the run must have fledged this morning. The parents were chittering like crazy and doing the little fake "I'm injured, come after me" distraction tactic. I looked around for the chicks before releasing the raptors. I didn't see them. If they're still in there, the chickens will destroy them.

Sounds like you need to rest a bit, DL.
Thanks for the coffee! It is a cooler day here and they took the snow flurries out of the forecast for tonight and raised the low so all should be well in the garden world.
I need to go pull thistles so enjoy the day and stay cool, Cafe!
Get rest and get better, Covidians!!! Hugs!!!!

@DobieLover was your Covid test negative?
It'll be 1 to 2 days before I get the results back. I had the test yesterday at 2:45.

I texted my manager yesterday to let him know that I'd be out on sick leave until I have the results back. I think the company policy is that you have to have a negative covid test before they let you come back into the building to work. But I can work remotely from home. When I'm feeling better.

The storm was actually pretty kind to us last night! Lots of rain; I think we got around 2 inches. No hail, no wind damage that I know of.

The sun hasn't quite made it out yet. I took advantage of the relative cool this morning to get garden work done. And I saw this:

My first tomato flower. It's a variety called Hungarian Heart, which I've never grown before. So far, I'm impressed.

I have high hopes for my tomatoes, potatoes, onions, and garlic this year. The plants look good and healthy. You can make a lot of yum with those ingredients plus one or two others. And eggs, of course.
