BYC Café

Can you dunk them regularly and put a floor fan on them?
Dunking has crossed my mind, but a floor fan is not possible.
Crates are in the coop, 2nd one mickeymoused up on aux roost.
May have to set up other crates out in run or yard.
Had to do that a couple summers ago with a serial broody,
had to move crate several times a day to keep it in the shade.
I'll cope, but with much complaint :D

The Cafe peeps must be busy
I was.

I started by getting a load of wash on the line and running the dishwasher.
I asked my nephew to come over and help me get the last load of pond stones. There were two that required the dolly to get on the trailer.

He went with me to run the dogs when we got back with the stones.

Seeing as he was here, I asked him to help me bring the A/C up and get it in the window.
The air filters and vents were FILTHY!! So I took the face plate off that has the air diffusers in it (and the front control panel mother board) and removed the mother board and washed the face plate in the tub with a bleach / dishwashing liquid solution then put it to dry in the sun, cleaned the filters and all the cooling fins and hosed out the back of the unit and kept picking out the slime that started to clog the drain hole. It fired right up and cooled down really well. Those diffusers were covered with mildew.

Then I watered all the plants, cut the grass (chicken pen too), brought in the wash and put it away, unloaded the dishwasher, grilled chicken and made salad for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow, went out and did a booty wash on my two worst hens, did all my normal evening chores and now I'm going to sit on me arse and eat a banana/strawberry smoothie until I have to take a shower and crash.
And my stupid right ear is still plugged!! I took a musinex and decongestant this morning so the coughing attacks have been minimal.

I got the gardens watered. It took about two hours. Everything looks healthy, :) including the weeds. :( I really need to get on those tomorrow.

The potato plants that have the most flowers in bloom are the volunteers from last year, ie, the ones I missed when I dug them up. If I have a moderately good harvest of taters, I'm going to have A. Lot. Of. Potatoes. What's for dinner tonight, dear? Something and potatoes. :lau

Something and potatoes works for me.

Just ahead of the next heat wave.....got the shade cloths up today, always a bit of a sore body chore, reaching up over my head threading/closing zipties and putting hands thru 2x4 holes to get things in the right place.
Went smooth tho, got the technique and order down. Am tired now, will be sore.

Definitely have 2 broodies(DAMNIT!!!) 1(biterbitch) went into crate the other got put in aux run until I could close the nests. Not sure how I'll handle it thru the heat wave.
More broodies this year than any of the past 8, wonders if it's because this is the only year I haven't had a cockbird and also no chicks.

Ear problems get old fast. I have a tube in my right ear.
