While you are in Burke, drive up Rt 5 to Lake Willoughby. If you want to go for a hike there is a trail on the east side. You can go to the top of Mt. Pisgah, you can keep going north on the trail and come back out onto Rt 5 but you'll have to walk the ~2.5 miles back to the south entrance. Otherwise you can turn around and go back out the south entrance but do go somewhat north past the top, there are great views of the lake from a few lookouts.

It's been a long time! I hope everyone is doing well.
Very long! Last we knew you had headed to British Columbia. Got back in time for winter in Nova Scotia!

More people are moving to Nova Scotia then ever before, but it’s still quiet compare to much of Canada
Seemed pretty crowded in Halifax but then Halifax isn't representative of NS any more than New York City is of the state of New York.

This is exactly what Maggie did to the tech - out the door and down the hall with never a look back at us.
Probably thought the tech was going to rescue her out the back door

Awesome! Thanks for the suggestion!!

Well I just left Home Depot with my ridge vents. There were longer lines at the pro desk checkout counter so I went to the self checkout.
I have to stress that I got there first.
While I was checking out one of the employees came up to, I don't know, straighten up the paper bags. Well Bella felt that this would be an excellent opportunity to scratch her face and she did so by cramming it into this poor woman's butt. You've never seen anybody whip around so fast in your life!
Shame on me that I kept laughing my entire way out the door and I'm still laughing in my car!

I wanted a small station wagon. Found one, but it was a standard. So the car sales person taught me to drive it. 2 lessons and i drove home my Toyota sw.
When I bought my first brand new car (second car I ever bought), I wanted a stick shift. The salesman taught me how to drive it. I drove it home, no problem, and then stalled it 3x trying to get in the driveway and into my parking spot.

There is a steep hill in Grand Rapids (Michigan street hill, well known), and for months I drove blocks out of the way to avoid going up and dealing with the stoplights on it. :gig

DL, I hope you and your niece have a fantastic time on your vacation!

Did she find the humor in it after discovering it wasn't some pervert reaching under there?
I think she was just embarrassed when she realized her mistake. It's not like she didn't see Bella standing right there when she walked up. I heard one of her co-workers laughing though.
